Jolt Technologies, LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our”), a Wisconsin limited liability company, operates fixd.fun (the “Platform”) and neednotary.now (the “Notary Service”), together with all related websites, applications, and services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you access or use the Services.
BY ACCESSING OR USING THE SERVICES, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO THE COLLECTION, USE, AND DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION AS DESCRIBED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SERVICES.
1.1. Information You Provide Directly. We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register for an account, use the Services, make a purchase, request support, or otherwise communicate with us. This may include:
(a) Account Information: Your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, date of birth, and account credentials (username and password).
(b) Payment Information: Credit or debit card numbers, billing address, and other payment-related details. Payment processing is handled by our third-party payment processor (Stripe, Inc.), and we do not store your full card number on our servers.
(c) Identity Verification: For notary services, we may collect government-issued identification documents, photographs, knowledge-based authentication (KBA) responses, and biometric data (such as facial recognition or credential analysis) as required by applicable notarial law.
(d) User Content: Documents, files, images, signatures, annotations, and any other content you upload, create, or transmit through the Services.
(e) Communications: Information you provide when you contact us for support, submit feedback, or participate in surveys or promotions.
(f) Notary Professional Information: For Notaries, your commission details, surety bond information, state of commission, expiration date, and related professional credentials.
1.2. Information We Collect Automatically. When you access or use the Services, we automatically collect certain information, including:
(a) Device and Browser Information: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, device identifiers, screen resolution, and language preferences.
(b) Usage Data: Pages viewed, links clicked, features used, time and date of access, duration of sessions, referring URL, and interaction patterns.
(c) Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activity. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may limit your ability to use certain features of the Services.
(d) Log Data: Server logs that record requests made to our servers, including IP address, date and time, referral URLs, and system configuration information.
1.3. Information from Third Parties. We may receive information about you from third-party sources, including identity verification providers, payment processors, analytics services, and publicly available databases, and we may combine this information with other information we collect about you.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
(a) To provide, maintain, operate, and improve the Services;
(b) To process transactions, send transaction confirmations, and manage your account;
(c) To verify your identity, including for remote online notarization sessions as required by applicable law;
(d) To communicate with you, including sending service-related notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages;
(e) To respond to your inquiries, requests, and customer support needs;
(f) To personalize your experience and deliver content, features, and offers relevant to your interests;
(g) To monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with the Services;
(h) To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions, abuse, security incidents, and other illegal activities and protect the rights, property, and safety of our users and the public;
(i) To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, and governmental requests, including notarial recordkeeping requirements;
(j) To enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements;
(k) To develop new products, services, and features;
(l) For any other purpose with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
(a) Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors, consultants, and service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing (Stripe), cloud hosting, data storage, identity verification, analytics, email delivery, and customer support. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to perform services for us and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
(b) Notaries and Signers: When you participate in a notarization session, we share relevant information between the Signer and the Notary as necessary to complete the transaction, including identity verification results, document details, and session recordings.
(c) Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe such action is necessary to: (i) comply with a legal obligation; (ii) protect and defend our rights or property; (iii) prevent fraud or other illegal activity; (iv) protect the personal safety of users or the public; or (v) protect against legal liability.
(d) Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, acquisition, sale of company assets, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, dissolution, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred or disclosed as part of such transaction. We will provide notice before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
(e) With Your Consent: We may share your information with third parties when you have given us your express consent to do so.
4.1. We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. We also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including notarial recordkeeping requirements, which may mandate retention for periods specified by state law), resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect our rights.
4.2. Notarization session recordings and journal entries are retained for the minimum period required by applicable state law (e.g., at least ten (10) years for Wisconsin RON sessions, or as otherwise required).
4.3. When your information is no longer needed for any of the purposes described above, we will securely delete or anonymize it in accordance with our data retention policies and applicable law.
5.1. We implement commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, destruction, or loss. These measures include, without limitation: encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, secure server infrastructure, regular security assessments, and employee training.
5.2. We offer optional two-factor authentication (2FA) via standards-compliant TOTP authenticator apps (such as Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, or similar) to provide an additional layer of account security. Wiz Authenticator, a dedicated app by fixd.fun, is coming soon to iPhone and Android.
5.3. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You acknowledge and accept this risk when using the Services.
6.1. Access and Correction. You may access and update your account information at any time by logging into your account and navigating to your profile or settings page. If you need assistance, contact us at help@fixd.fun.
6.2. Account Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by emailing help@fixd.fun. Please note that we may be required to retain certain information for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes, including notarization records as required by state law.
6.3. Email Communications. You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from us by following the unsubscribe instructions in any promotional email. Please note that even if you opt out of promotional communications, we may still send you transactional or service-related communications (such as account notifications, security alerts, and billing confirmations).
6.4. Cookies. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of the Services.
6.5. Do Not Track. Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no accepted standard for how to respond to DNT signals, the Services do not currently respond to DNT signals.
7.1. If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell; (b) request deletion of your personal information; (c) opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; and (d) not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
7.2. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise your rights, contact us at legal@fixd.fun. We will verify your identity before processing your request.
The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at help@fixd.fun.
The Services are operated and managed from the United States. If you are accessing the Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our servers and service providers are located. By using the Services, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction of residence.
We may use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to help us understand how users interact with the Services. These services may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about usage patterns. The information collected by these third-party services is used to evaluate use of the Services, compile reports on activity, and provide other services related to website and internet usage.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Privacy Policy on the Services and updating the “Last updated” date above. We may also provide additional notice, such as an email notification or an in-app alert, at our discretion. Your continued use of the Services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
